We, union members of SAVWU, firmly commit ourselves to the formation of    a strong, non-politically aligned labour laws; to non-racial, non-sexist and for democratic South Africa, free of oppression, social and economic exploitation and any form of unfair dismissals, unfair retrenchment and unfair discrimination.

VISION

Committing to maximum fights for vulnerable workers and unity amongst workers in all sectors. Striving for human dignity, effective service delivery, protection of our members’ rights in the workplace, as well as civil society, in line with SAVWU’s Constitution.

MISSION

  • To render a professional service to all our members through democratically elected structures which are mandated by members in the interest of protecting them against any unfair labour practices.
  • To encourage professionalism of all our members towards each other and ensure that the community is treated with respect and dignity.
  • To promote a democratic labour environment and society, free from any unfair discrimination against gender, religion, race, culture or political beliefs; or any other form of unfair discrimination against any individual or group of people.
  • To unite and share our beliefs, values and aspirations.

The Union shall be open to employees in the:

  • Food sector
  • Domestic sectors
  • Cleaning sectors
  • and all other sectors  both public and private
